2nd Annual Chili Cook off
Regs and Rules
The event will be held Saturday, November 9th, 2024 at
557 Hwy 60, Hoschton, GA 30548
*UNLOADING: Unloading and setting up will begin between 7:00am and 7:30am in
Back of the church in the designated areas.
*COOKING: Cooking will start at 9:00am. No ingredients may be cooked or cut prior to the start of contest.
A minimum of 2 gallons of chili will be prepared for sampling and Judging.
*SAFETY: No open campfires, only propane shall be permitted. No electricity will be provided and no
portable generators will be allowed. Each team needs a fire extinguisher when possible.
*SET-UP: Each participant will be given a 10x10 space. This includes decorations also.
Contestants are responsible for supplying their own cooking utensils.
PROVIDED: Sample cups, mini spoons, napkins and a people’s choice box will be provided.
Sampling starts at 11am through 2:00pm.
JUDGING: judges' containers will be given out at 12:30. At this time you will pick your
team's number and it will be put on your judge's container at this time.
Judging will consist of: Presentation, Smell/Aroma, Flavor, Texture and
Overall Impression.
The decision of the judges is final.
END OF THE DAY: The team captain is responsible for cleaning up their area at the
end of our event.
Itinerary
7-7:30am – Set up, decorate and inspection along with meet and greet.
9am – Cutting and cooking begins. “Start your burners!”
11am – Sampling begins, ENJOY!
12:30pm – Judges containers passed out as well as team number drawn.
1:00 – Turn in. A minimum of one cup of chili.
1:45pm - AWARDS! Good Luck
1st place: Award and $100 2nd place: Award and $50 3rd place: Award and $25
